St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School

A big 'well done' to everyone.

This month, Ruby McCann in Year 5 and Tammy Bankole in Y3 received an award for coming 2nd in a Taekwondo competition. Well done!

Every half term individuals in our school receive a number of different awards.  We spoke to Zoe Koryczan –Byrne who won Role of Honour.  She said she was very pleased with herself. Well done Zoe and all the others who received this award.

Over the past few weeks the Netball Team have played many matches. When the girls played Downside we won 11-2 and a few weeks before they played a game against Sacred Heart and won 9-2! GO GIRLS!

The Y6 boys have played great football lately.  Although they lost against Sacred Heart with a final score 4-3, they won against St Margaret’s with a 7-2 lead and  The Meads 5-1, Pirton Hill 9-2 Sundon Park 2-1 and  Chantry 9-1.  What a performance boys!!!

Outside of the school football team, Kyron Roberts-Edema played with Luton Town Football Academy team in a tournament in Longuenesse, France.  As well winning the entire tournament, the victorious players enjoyed a celebration meal with the Major of Longuenesse!  What an achievement!  When we interviewed Kyron he commented, “It was a great experience and I’m looking forward to attending again next year.”

Annually years 2 and 6 pupils do a variety of Maths, Reading and Grammar tests that are called SATs.  We are all relieved that SAT’s are over and are extremely proud of our hard work.  We are looking forward to the upcoming events in the school year: Condover, the Fundraiser and the Leavers Disco!
