Here at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that everyone is a reader and every day a reading day. Our committed group of Reading Champions make sure that message is never far from the minds of pupils and staff alike!
Dedicated and devoted to reading for pleasure, the Reading Champions represent every class across our key stages. Their knowledge and know how is invaluable to Mrs Gearty as she plans special events across the school including: National Storytelling Week, National Poetry Day, School Book Fairs and World Book Day. In addition, on a day to day basis, the Champions promote reading whenever and wherever they can: helping in the library, writing book reviews, guiding young readers as they find their wings and offering help and recommendations to curious pupils wondering what to read next.
We are immensely proud of the work that the St. Joseph’s Reading Champions do to promote reading across the school.
